Ultimately, La Canfora says it’s “very likely” it comes down to the Bears and the Colts for McDaniels, and guesses that it’ll be the Colts for McDaniels on the hope that Andrew Luck can rebound to health. If McDaniels believes he could win more quickly with Luck, rather than developing Mitch Trubisky, then you couldn’t blame him for opting to go that route. And if Luck is going to be healthy in 2018, then that’s a might attractive gig for a young, offensively-inclined head coach looking to stick in his second go-around.
