Dallas Cowboź¦¦ys quarterback Dak Prescott was just carted off the field after suffering a lower leg injury on a tackle.
I’m not gonna show the video here, but if you just have to see it. Suffice to say, the right leg bent under the weight of a defender, and it looked really, really bad.
Everyone was emotional as Dak was carted off the fieldš:
Prayers for DAK š

It’s hard not to see that and conclude Prescott’s season is over. But we’ve been fooled before. Hopes for a quick and full recovery.
The immediate concerns are for Prescott’s overall health and ability to keep playing high-level football for years to come. In the more immediate term, though, the timing of the injury is particularly terrible. Prescott, 27, is playing on the franchise tag this year and has been angling for a long-term deal with the Cowboys (or, if need be, a trade where he could land such a deal). If this injury is as bad as it looks, there will be questions about his health linger into the summer, and he may find himself in free agency trying to find a deal where he can prove himself.
You could already start extrapolating where he might get a chance to do that, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. For today, we can say only that the injury looked awful, and you just hope he’s OK.
UPDATE: Oof. It was indeed as bad as it looked. A compound ankle fracturź¦ŗe and a dislocation. .
