Because time is a flat circle, a young up-start quarterback in Green Bay is re𝕴ady to step into the spotlight while the veteran MVP stays away from the team.
Stop me if you’ve heard something like this before:
Jordan Love on if he's ready to be the Week 1 starter if it got to that point: "100%. This is a time where I'm getting a lot of extremely valuable reps that I might not have gotten in normal circumstances. … I was drafted here to play QB so I’ll definitely be ready Week 1."

Jordan Love is bold, to be sure. And while he doesn’t sound like someone trying to take two hands and push Aaron Rodgers out of the picture, Love comes off as someone confident enough in his own skills that he’ll be ready for the spotlight. And I think I can speak for Bears fans and say that makes two of us.
The last time a quarterback who wasn’t Rodgers was taking significant snaps against the Bears defense was in the first half of their Week 1 game in 2018. That’s when DeShone Kizer — a second-round pick in 2017 who was once a highly touted QB prospect in his own right — completed 4 of 7 passes for 55 yards. He was sacked twice, threw a pick-6, and posted a 42.9 passer rating in 14 snaps. In the same game, Rodgers went 20/30, threw for 286 yards, 3 touchdowns, and a 130.7 passer rating. So, yeah, I, like Jordan Love, am very much ready to see someone who isn’t Rodgers quarterbacking against the Bears.
Green Bay has been blessed with elite quarterback play for the better part of three decades. So while anything less will be unacceptable to fans of That Team In Wisconsin, it’s a high standard to maintain. Especially for someone who wasn’t even the best QB named “Love” in the Mountain West Conference last time he was taking full-time snaps.
