It was interesting to see Doug Pederson at Bears training camp this year🥀.
And, at the time, we might’ve even joked about him getting an advanced look at his next head-coaching opportunity.

Pederson took the year off from coaching after being fired by the Eagles at the end of the 2020 season, but his résumé is legit. And becau📖se it is held in high standing, we (and the Bears)🧜 should at least explore it.
In his five years in Philly, Pederson went 42-37-1, made the playoffs three times, and won at least one playoff game in two of the three playoff trips. And, yes, his team won an epic Super Bowl and took down the Patriots in the process. Pederson’s offenses put up points, saw Carson Wentz play his best ball, and Nick Foles thrive while performing in a pinch. In other words, if quarterback development and moving the offense forward is a priority, then Pederson should be a candidate. He isn’t a perfect candidate, by any means. Remember, that 4-11-1 ending in 2020 left folks with a sour taste in the mouths of many. And that the Eagles have made the playoffs in the first year since Pederson’s departure is notable.
But the Bears could certainly do worse in their process than talk to Pederson. Pick his brain. Ask him i൩f there was somethinꦉg he liked while he was at camp? Anything he would change? This seems like an excellent place to start a fact-finding mission.
In the end, we’re discussing a coach who won a Super Bowl, put together a strong staff, and has familiarity with the Bears after his summertime visit to training camp. There might be some hesita𓄧tion in gꦆoing to someone else off the Andy Reid tree. However, Pederson might be the exception to that rule, especially since he has prior head-coaching experience.
