Well, there it is. Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins is signing with the Atlanta Falcons, and that’s not great news for the Chicago Bears.
According to multiple reports (), Cousins is signing a four-year, $180 million deal with the Falcons, ending his tenure in Minnesota. The deal includes $100 million guaranteed for Cousins, who will mak𓄧e $45 million annually.
Kirk Cousins’ helps Atlanta fill their most significant offseason need
Cousins was undergoing another solid season when he tore his Achilles in 2023. The veteran quarterback had 2,331 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions in eight games before he went down in October against the Packers. Cousins will have plenty of suitors, including Minnesota, thi𝐆s offseason and still has the arm strength and accuracy to be an above-average passer even entering his age 36 season in 2024.
The Falcons n🌞ow🌠 pair Cousins with talented offensive playmakers, including Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Tyler Algeier.
New Falcons head coach Raheem Morris made it a point to upgrade the quarterback position this offseason, and now Atlanta can ꦦcheck off their biggest box.
Unfortunately for the Bears, another rumored Justin Fields suitor is off the board. Pittsburgh and Atlanta were two teams that were said to be interested (in some cap🃏acity) in Fields, and both now 🦩have quarter𒐪backs in Cousins and Russell Wilson.
The Justin Fields market continues to shrink.
