We do our best to take in-depth looks at the Chicago Bears. Our goal is to give the best analysis we can and try to diagnose what we’re seeing from practice, games, media availability, and everything in between.
But sometimes it’s fun to be a fanboy.
Caleb Willi▨ams was awesome in his preseason opener. While we didn’t see much from Rome Odunze in that one, we know how high is ceiling can be. Today in practice, Caleb and Rome showed in exactly why they have the potential to go down as the best QB-WR duo in Bears history — and possibly do so quickly:
(Luis: Holy cow. Rome creates separation so quickly that you’ll miss it if you blink.)
Rome Odunze & Caleb Williams Deserve The Hype
I love everything about this (well, maybe with the exception of Terell Smith getting burned, but hey that happens sometimes). Odunze perfectly executed the double move. Faking the out route with great footwork a💯s well as the head fake. Then when Smith turned his body to play the out, Rome perfectly broke inside and vertical for the wide-open touchdown on a perfectly delivered ball from Caleb Williams.
Yes, it’s just one throw and one route in one period of one practice. But it’s also just the latest of several examples we’ve been given since Draft Day that should make us incredibly excited for what the future holds for that duo and this franchise.
Get me to September 8, please.
