The folks at DaWindyCity Productions don’t miss when it comes to Chicago Bears hype videos.

will have Bears fans dreaming the biggest dreams when they’re done viewing…

… and it is one they’ll probably play on repeat in the 13 days between now and when Week 1 kicks off on September 8.

There are good reasons to be hyped about the Chicago Bears in 2024

Videos like the one above give me goosebumps. I’m so excited about to see how things unfold for the 2024 Chicago Bears, and I know I’m not alone in feeling that way. Heck, I’m so excited that I came up with a quick list of six things that I’m geeked up about.

  • A new era at QB — The Caleb Williams for Justin Fields swap out not only reset the QB contract clock, it also positioned the Bears to shell out big money extensions for cornerback Jaylon Johnson and receiver DJ Moore. Plus, it allowed the Bears the financial flexibility to sign a highly touted offseason additions class headlined by wideout Keenan Allen and running back D’Andre Swift. There is something about a clean slate that I think will allow Bears fans to fully embrace the future.
  • New Offensive Coordinator Shane Waldron gives me hope — We are already seeing what it looks like when you put new eyes on old problems with Waldron moving Velus Jones Jr. out of a wide receiver spot and into a running back’s role. The best coaches can make the most out of what others consider to be misfit toys, so I’m looking forward to seeing what else the new play-caller has in store for this offense.
  • Let’s not forget about new Defensive Coordinator Eric Washington — It sometimes feels as if the Bears hiring a new DC gets lost in the shuffle when we talk about the significant changes this team made in the offseason. However, I don’t want to let that happen. Last year, we saw Chicago’s defense level up after Phil Snow came on board in a senior defensive advisor capacity. With Washington not calling plays, I wonder if a chunk of his value will come as someone who serves as an ideas guy for Head Coach Matt Eberflus, who will resume play-calling duties after letting his DC do it in the preseason.

  • A full season of Montez Sweat should be fun — Speaking of leveling up, that is exactly what happened when Sweat arrived in Chicago. After acquiring the defensive end in a deadline day trade with the Washington Commanders, Sweat put up 6 sacks and 14 quarterback hits in 9 games en route to his first Pro Bowl. Extrapolate those stats over a full 17-game season and it looks like this: 11 sacks, 26 quarterback hits. Yes! I would like a full season of that and would like to know where I can sign up to lock it in for Montez Sweat in 2024.
  • The Jaylon Johnson revenge tour is coming — You’d think CB1 would be in good spirits after grading out as the league’s top corner and an offseason that saw him secure a massive extension. But Johnson was left off of the player-voted NFL Top 100 players list — and he is taking it personally. Johnson, who played out his rookie deal with a chip on his shoulder after seeing a bunch of corners go off the board before he was drafted, now has more motivation to be great in 2024. I’d feel bad for opposing wide receivers if they weren’t going up against the Bears, because Johnson is going to bring the heat this season.
  • Rome Odunze is so much fun — In any other year, Bears fans would be drooling uncontrollably at the sight of a stud rookie wide receiver. Instead, Odunze hype tends to fall in line behind Caleb Williams, DJ Moore, and Keenan Allen. I don’t think it’ll be long before Odunze is getting top billing. So buy stock now and get in on the ground floor while you still can.
  • On the one hand, there is a part of me that hates knowing that we still have 13 days left until the regular season kicks off. But on the other hand, I feel as if the Bears will make it worth the wait. This team feels different. How different? We’ll find out soon enough…
