The First Chicago Bears Injury Report of 2024 is OUT

The NFL’s regular season begins this week, which means injury reports — that are mandated by the league now that the regular season is here — are hitting the wire.

Over the years, doing Chicago Bears injury report posts has been a tedious task. Not that I’m complaining about the work. It’s just that the injury bug has gnawed at the Bears in the most annoying ways possible. Don’t get me wrong. I understand that injuries are part of the game. But I’ll tell ya, Chicago’s football team has had some rough ones to navigate.

With that being said, 2024 brings us a clean slate. And I hope to carry over the good vibes from the preseason into the regular season. Let’s try to start it off by sharing :

Wednesday’s Chicago Bears injury report is a relative breath of fresh air

Earlier in the week, Bears Head Coach Matt Eberflus told reporters at Halas Hall that things were looking good on the injury front. Don’t let those limited designations fool you. This edition of the injury report isn’t full of gloom and doom.

I’m unbothered by wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) and Montez Sweat (toe) appearing on the injury report until further notice. The groin injury nagging Zacch Pickens carries over from the preseason is something worth keeping tabs on. But I find it encouraging that he is a limited participant rather than being a non-participant. Offensive lineman Ryan Bates’ summertime injury might have kept him from snagging a starting role, but practicing in a limited capacity is good news. As for rookie Kiran Amegadjie, his quad injury is something he has been working through for a while. I still see this as a redshirt year for the third-round pick from Yale.

We’ll continue keeping tabs on the injury report, which will get updates on Thursday and Friday this week. Hopefully, there will be no late-in-the-week additions. Keep your fingers crossed.
