It looks like FanDuel Sportsbook will be entering North Carolina when sportsbooks officially go live in 2024. The operator has teamed up with the PGA Tour to form a partnership so it can enter North Carolina sports betting. Here are the details.
FanDuel Partners Strikes Partnership with PGA Tour
The North Carolina sports betting law requires sportsbook operators to partner with professional teams, leagues, or fꩵacilities to join the North Carolina market. FanDuel has had a previous relationship with the PGA Tour and will be expanding that relation𒁏ship by leaning on the PGA Tour in North Carolina.
As of now, there isn’t a sponsorship as part of the deal. It’s a commercial WDA that gives FanDuel the ability to apply for a sports betting license in North Carolina.
FanDuel Joins bet365, ESPN Bet in North Carolina Sports Betting
FanDuel will be joining ESPN Bet and bet365 as these operators have also struck deals in the state to join online sports betting when it goes live at some point in 2024. bet🐬365 Sportsbook has a partnership 💯with the Charlotte Hornets. Penn Entertainment, which runs ESPN Bet, has a deal with Quail Hollow Club.
Sports Betting Applications Due by Dec. 27
Sports betting operators are currently finalizing partnerships and applying for sports betting licenses in the state. The applications are due by December 27. Then, the sports betting committee will be 🌌taking up to 60 days to approve operators to join online sports betting in the state.
Will North Carolina Launch by March Madness?
We learned last week that the state of North Carolina will not have online sports betting available for Super Bowl LVIII ꦫwhich takes place on February 11, 2024. When about March Madness? No official date ha🃏s been set just yet for sportsbooks to go live.
If we read between the lines, the 60-day application process puts the potential earliest launch date in early March. That’s if everything goes smoothly.
