Well, Patrick Sharp won’t be back in the broadcast booth for the Blackhawks this fall. And it isn’t only because the Hawks hired Darren Pang as their l♌ead color commentator for the coming season.
On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Flyers announced they have hired Sharp 🌼as a Special Advisor to Hockey Operations.
According to the , Sharp will report directly to Flyers GM Danny Briere “and will be involved in all aspects of the club’s hockey operations department with a strong focus on player development with Flyers prospects.”
Here’s the statement from Briere on the hiring:
“In adding Patrick Sharp to our group, we are gaining an individual who has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to building an environment of winning at all levels,” said President of Hockey Operations Keith Jones. “Patrick knows what it takes to win, he understands how to convey that to our players and is a relationship maker. He will be a vital component as we continue to build the foundation of the Philadelphia Flyers.”
Sharp was origina🌜lly drafted by the Flyers in the third round (No. 95 overall) of the 2001 NHL Draft and won the 2005 Calder Cup Championship with the Philadelphia Phantoms before he was traded to the Blackhawks. He won three Stanley Cup championships with the Blackhawks, the first of which came at the expense of the Flyers.
