It’s Game Day for the Blackhawks prospects in Minnesota. Many of the prospects this week talked about the first few practices feeling like the first day of school. To Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson, this must feel like opening presents on a birthday or Christmas. Chicago’s GM has worked hard over the past two regular seasons and summers to accumulate assets to change the trajectory of the future of the franchise, and this will be one of the first significant moments on his timeline. Is this Opening Night in Pittsburgh? No. But seeing ten players from the last two drafts — the first two run by Davidson — on the ice together is big. From what I’ve seen this week, he should be smiling.
