Blackhawks vs Blues – Preseason Lineups (BEDARD!), Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Well, if you haven’t heard… the Blackhawks play their first preseason game this evening. Taylor Hall, Nick Foligno Corey Perry and Ryan Donato will make their Blackhawks debuts, and 2023 draft picks Martin Misiak, Nick Lardis and the man so nice they named him twice, Marcel Marcel, will see NHL ice for their first times as well. Chicago will also have four potential rookies on the blue line with Wyatt Kaiser, Kevin Korchinski and Alex Vlasic on the left side and Nolan Allan on the left side on the right. In net, Drew Commesso will appear against NHL players in a non-Olympic💦 tournament for the first timꦑe.

Pretty cool, eh?

Oh, yeah. Connor Bedard is here, too.

What to Watch For

  • Um, 98 in red.
  • Lukas Reichel is centering the second line, and the hope is that he can do that full-time this year.
  • Wyatt Kaiser will be skating with Seth Jones, where he has spent almost all of training camp and has looked remarkably comfortable. That might be his spot to keep if the shows as well against other NHL teams as he has in the prospect showcase and in training camp.
  • I’m actually really excited to see Martin Misiak and Nick Lardis against NHL players before they head back to their respective junior clubs — and this might be our only chance for that to happen with the Blackhawks playing “only” six preseason games (but in a condensed calendar). They’ve both looked good in practice and Misiak is in a great spot between a couple vets tonight.
  • Drew Commesso will play the second-half of the game, our first chance to see him against NHL players in a Blackhawks sweater after talking about his arrival for what feels like a decade. He’s played confidently since camp started and finished his final collegiate season at Boston University very well.
  • Get Caught Up
