Every Monday we’re keeping up with how the weekend treated the Blackhawks’ collection of college prospects. Recently, some of Chicago’s recent draft picks have put together nice games, and this weekend was no different. Lots of goals and plenty of assists came from players whose names have been called by Kyle Davidson. And we love to see that!
Star 1: Frank Nazar III, Michigan
Michigan coughed up a lead in the third period and lost 4-3 to Minnesota on Friday night. Nazar scored the game’s first goal and won 14 of 20 faceoffs. On Saturday night, Nazar came out of the gates firing; he was credited with six shots on goal in the first period. He assisted on Michigan’s first goal and scored the second in a 2-2 tie (Michigan picked up the extra conference point in the shootout). Nazar won 11 of 18 faceoffs and finished with nine shots on goal on Saturday night.
So,꧋ for those keeping track at home, Nazar won 25 of 38 faceoffs (65.8%), scored two goals and added an assist in the two 💜games against Minnesota. He now has six goals and seven assists in 12 games to start the season for the Wolverines.
Star 2: Landon Slaggert, Notre Dame
Notre Dame upset No. 19 Ohio State 4-1 on Friday night. Slaggert scored Notre Dame’s third goal of the night, his eighth of the season. Saturday night, Notre Dame completed the weekend sweet of Ohio State 3-0 and Slaggert had an assist on all three goals. That’s one goal and three assists this weekend for the captain of the Fighting Irish. Stay hot, Landon!
Star 3: Ryan Greene, Boston University
Greene scored a power play goal to get Boston University on the board against UMass Lowe෴ll on Friday night. He also won 5 of 16 faceoffs in the game. He added a power play assist and won 8 of 11 faceoffs in a 6-1 Boston University on Saturday night.
