It’s happening, folks. Kevin Korchinski has been moved up to the Blackhawks’ top power play unit.
On Tuesday the Blackhawks showed off the change with all three rookies — Korchinski, Connor Bedard and Lukas Reichel — on the top unit. So the future will now begin on the power play.
Here are the two grꩲoups we saw in practice on Tuesday:
PP1: Bedard, Kurashev, Reichel (bumper), Perry (net front), Korchinski
PP2: Hall, T. Johnson, Raddysh (bumper), Foꦆligno (net front), Jones
The Blackhawks currently rank 29th in the NHL on the power play, converting only 11.3 percent of the time. We’ll get our first look at the groups in Columbus on Wednesday night against the Blue Jackets’ fourth-ranked penalty kill.
