Throughout the offseason, I’m keeping an eye out for mock drafts and how some reputable folks are projecting the Blackhawks’ selections in the 2024 NHL Draft. Already this offseason I’ve offered three roundups of other mock drafts with some names and rationale for the Blackhawks’ picks for us to digest and consider.
We got a new one on Wednesday, and it’s a good one. And the best part: it’s a full two rounds! Let’s get into it.
The Athletic — Corey Pronman & Scott Wheeler
The writers at completed a full two(!!)-round mock draft, alternating picks for teams. Corey Pronman was responsible for all of the Blackhawks’ picks in the first two rounds. Each picks’ name has the link to their EliteProspects bio page for you to check out their stats.

Pronman’s Comments: “Feels like the winds are blowing in the direction of Ivan Demidov but my gut instinct is that if it’s close between the two, an NHL team will prefer the big, impactful defenseman they’ve seen in person for two years.“

Pronman’s Comments: “Chernyshov is a big, skilled winger who can fly and would be a great fit on Chicago’s top six alongside many of the other speedsters they’ve picked in recent years.“

Pronman’s Comments: “Miettinen is a big center who skates well and has solid offensive traits. He helps Chicago continue to build out their young center depth.“

Pronman’s Comments: “[Wetsch]’s pure skill level won’t blow you away, but he’s a tremendous competitor who skates well and has enough playmaking to potentially be an NHL player.“

Pronman’s Comments: “Battaglia is a decent-sized winger with the speed and offensive skills to potentially score at higher levels and was quite productive in the OHL this season.“
