Blackhawks Announce Laurent Brossoit Will Miss 5-7 Weeks

You always want the Blackhawks to report to training camp as healthy as possible. “In the best shape of my life/career” is the quote you always want to see/read/hear. We got word on Wednesday afternoon that this year’s camp will not be so.

The Blackhawks announced goaltenderĀ Laurent BrossoitĀ underwent successful meniscus surgery on his right knee on Tuesday at Northwestern Memorial Hospitaā™”l in Chicago. He is expected to make a full recovery and return in 5-7 weeks.

Counting on my fingers, five weeks from today is Oct. 2 — which means the entire preseason is out for Brossoit and the start of the regular season is in question. It looks like Arvid Sƶderblom might šŸ‰have to be the backup for a minute again to start the new season.
