Last season was unlike just about anything we’ve ever seen before for the Chicago Blackhawks. A franchise in transition moved on from the Jonathan Toews-Patrick Kane Era and moved immediately into the future with a new face of the franchise, Connor Bedard. When the🧸 Blackhawks wo🀅n the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery, it changed everything for the franchise.
Bedard arrived with as much hype and media attention as any hockey prospect in the history of the sport. He was labeled a “generational prospect” before he could drive a car, and the expectation he carried through his first professional season were as high as any in recent memory.
I have been writing about the Blackhawks regularly since 2008, and have seen and covered a lot over the years. But the Bedard Experience was — is — truly a new era in Chicago. Last season, while I was working to provide coverage of anything/everything Blackhawks here at Bleacher Nation, I was multi-tasking.
