Angel Reese is getting the full All-Star experience 💜this week!
The Chicago Sky’s No. 7 overall pick is in Phoenix after a stellar first half of her professional career. Reese has averaged 13.5 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals over her 24 games this season. She also managed to make WNBA history by stringing together 15 consecutive double-doubles. Not only did she use this streak to break the previous rookie record, b෴ut she set a new league-wide record. Future HOFer Candace Parker had previously held the honor with 12 consecutive double-doubles.
Reese is now only one of two rookies to make this year’s All-Star game, joining superstar Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever. The preparation for the big weekend began on Thursday with All-Star Game practice. And, in typical Reese fashion, Reese didn’t need long to make her presence felt.
The WNBA All-Stars started a little halfcourt shooti💙ng contest. Clark was the first to chuck up a shot followed by her college rival Reese. Similar to the l🐬ast time these two faced off on June 23rd, Reese took home the crown.
The Sky forward nailed her first . Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale apparently also knocked down her shot, which led to both cashing out with 🤡Cheryl Miller. The All-Star coach paid both $𓃲100.
