Ayo Dosunmu continues to put a smile on the faces of Chicago kids👍.
The Chicago Bulls’ guard recently held his third-annual Block Party, which creates a safe space for local kids to play hoops and celebrate the summer. The event was held in Morgan Park, where Dosunmu originally played his high school ball and vaulted up the recruiting ranks.
Multiple Chicago Bulls Youth Hoop coaches attended to run drills and scrimmages, . Kids also had plenty of other entertainment options at their disposal, including a DJ and a performance from the Bucket Boys. The Chicago Bulls undoubtedly deserve a tip of the cap for helping Ayo Dosunmu bring this event to life last month. And we can say the same about two of Dosunmu’s teammates!
Both Coby White and Jevon Carter stopped by to help Dosunmu run the show. Of course, Carter is one of the Bulls’ other hometown players and attended Proviso East High School. As for White, he may originate from North Carolina, but he has become a fan favorite in the community and serves as one of the team’s biggest building blocks.
The recently shared a video that briefly recaps the event. All three players are featured alongside plenty of smiling kids. It’s certainly worth a minute of your time.
I’ll always happily share community updates like these. As frustrated as this organization and team have made me over the years, I remain comforted by all the outreach the Bulls and their players continue to do in the surrounding community. Ayo Dosunmu is the catalyst for that, which is precisely why he received the NBA’s Community Assist Award last offseason!
