With the preseason only weeks away for the Bulls and Blackhawks, Chicago’s newest sports network is beginning its rollout.
Officially announced in June, the new platform will be the broadcasting home for the Bulls, Blackhawks, and White Sox. The three teams previously lived on NBC Sports Chicago. As they begin to prepare for an Oct. 1 launch date, the network shared on Monday that it will be available for free over-the-air viewing on Channel 62.2 and Channel 62.3. As for an agreement with streaming services and cable packages, we’re still waiting on the final word.
Additionally, the network , which also includes a look at the new logo. The commercial follows a CHSN (Chicago Sports Network) delivery truck around the city. After some appearances by Benny the Bull, Ozzie Guillen, and Jim Cornelison, a straightforward statement appears on screen, “Chicago sports now has a new home. Yours.”

I tip my cap to the network for some clever and exciting advertising. My only complaint is that it appears the name “Chicago Sports Network” has stuck. This sounded like something that could change after the initial announcement, but the new logo implies that it’s here to stay. I would’ve appreciated a bit more creativity.
Anyway, Tab provided some more updates on Chicago’s newest channel earlier today. We’ll be sure to share any other news that emerges. With the Blackhawks beginning preseason play on September 25, and the Bulls underway on Oct. 8, time is ticking for CHSN to get this thing up and running!
