2023 Louisville Season Review
The Cardinals were flying high with a 10-1 record heading into the final week of the regular season before a loss to Kentucky set them back before the ACC Championship game. Louisville then struggled in a 16-6 loss to Florida State to find itself out of the New Year’s Six bowl games.
Jack Plummer threw 21 touchdowns this season but had a rough title game vs Florida State. He hopes to finish 2023 on a high note and give Louisville its first 11-win seź¦æason since 2013.

2023 USC Season Review
There is so much to say about USC’s season as the Trojans ended up far from their high expectations at the beginning of the season. Many saw USC as a potential PAC-12 champion as well as a College Football Playoff contender.
ļ·½Things looked great after a 6-0 start but then losses to Notre Dame and Utah sent the Trojans slidingš fast. USC went just 1-5 to finish the season. 2022 Heisman winner Caleb Williams is off to the NFL so the Trojans will be giving a new QB some experience in the bowl game.

More on the Holiday Bowl
San Diego has hosted the Holiday Bowl since 1978, originally at San Diego Stadium, which was later demolished in 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the bowl didn’t take place in 2020 and 2021. Since 2022, it has found a home at Petco Park under a five-year arrangement, temporarily transforming the baseball park into a football venue for the San Diego Padres.
Established in 1978, ź¦the Holiday Bowl was created to offer an automatic bowl bid to the Western Athletic Conference after the Fiesta Bowl ended its ties with the conference. Over the years, the matchups expanded to include teams from the WAC, Big Ten, Big Eight, Big 12, and Pacific-10/Pac-12 conferences.
The game has seen shiftsš in team selections and conference affiliations, with the latest contract involving teams from the Pac-12 and Atlantic Coast Conference. Throughout its history, the bowl has been sponsored by various companies, including SeaWorld, Thrifty Car Rental, Chrysler Corporation, Culligan, Pacific Life, aną¼d Bridgepoint Education.
The 2020 edition was canceled due to the pandemicź§, and the 2021 edition faced a last-minute cancellation. Organizers filed a lawsuit seeking damages from the Pac-12 and UCLA for withdrawing from the 2021 game. Additionally, the bowl withheld payment to Pac-12 member Oregon for the 2022 game due to the lack of reimbursement for the canceled 2021 game.
