2023 Texas A&M Season Review
Most of the ܫbuzz surrounding the Aggies has been about the firing of Jimbo Fisher and the massi﷽ve buyout the school needed to pay to get that done. The biggest in college football history and, now, Texas A&M is moving forward with Mike Elko running the show.
The Aggies lost most of their big games this season including huge SEC matchups with Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, and Tennessee. Jaylen Henderson played QB down the stretch and threw 2 TD𓆏 passes in each of the last 3ꦬ games of the season.

More on the TaxAct Texas Bowl
Established in 2006 and hosted at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, the Texas Bowl replaced the Houston Bowl and the iconic Bluebonnet Bowl, becoming the city’s inaugural bowl game from 1959 to 1987. TaxAct has been the official sponsor since the 2021 edition, transforming it into the TaxAct Texas Bowl.
The former Houston Bowl faced uncertainties in 2005, with the end of its contract with EV1.net, resulting in financial challenges and the risk of closure. However, Lone Star Sports & Entert🦂ainment, a division of the Houston Texans, stepped in, securing the management 💃of the game and averting its shutdown. In a pivotal move, the NFL Network acquired both TV and naming rights to the bowl in July 2006.
Introduced on August 10, 2006, the Texas Bowl had affiliations with the Big 12, Big East, Conference USA, and Texas Christian University. The inaugural 2006 match featured teams from the Big 12 and Big East, with Rutgers and Kansas State facing off. In 2010, ESPN Events took on the role of part owner and operator, solidifying the Texas Bowl’s status in the college football postseason.
