Clemson (-5) vs Kentucky
Clemson is feeling good as it heads into the Gator Bowl matchup with Kentucky. The Tigers have won four games in a row after reaching a low point of 4-4 on the season. Wins ovﷺer Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, UNC, and South Carolina flipped the script for Clemson as it hopes to fi🦩nish the year with 9 wins.
QB Cade Klubnik threw 19 TD passes this year and he is𝐆 joined in the backfield by Will Shipley who ran for 798 yards and 5 touchdowns. He🔥 also caught 2 TD passes on the year.
Kentucky is going in the opposite direction as Clemson. The Wildcats finished the year 2-5 after starting 5-0. A rough loss to Georgia started t☂he slide for Kentucky as they lost to Tennesee, Missouri, and Alabama too. Drew Leary threw for 2,440 yards and 23 TD passes while running back Ray Davis declared for the NFL Draft after running for over 1,000 yards and s🌠coring 13 touchdowns.
Notre Dame (-6.5) vs Oregon State
In the Sun Bowl, Notre Dame clashes with Oregon State in a game of two teams who likely thought they might be playing🍬 in a different bowl game this holiday season.
Notre Dame suffered tough losses to Ohio State and Louisville, costing the Fighting Irish any shot at playing in the College Football Playoff. The Fighting Irish did go 4-1 after the loss to Louisville to put themselves just one game away from a 10-win season. QB Sam Hartman and RB Audric Estime are off to the N🌟FL so the bowl game ♊will provide some great experience for young players.
Oregon State was 6-1 and in a great position in the PAC-12 before losses to Arizona, Washington, and Oregon cost the Beavers any💜 chance at playing in the PAC-12 Championship game.
Oregon State is also down several players for the bowl game as quarterback DJ Uiagalelei is transferring, running back Damien Martinez’s status is up in the air due to a suspension, and WR Anthony Gould has entered the NFL Draft.
Iowa State (-10.5) vs Memphis
The Liberty Bowl brings us Memphis after a strong 9-3 season and Iow♓a State (7-5). Iowa State started the season 1-2 but went 4-1 in its next five games with wins over TCU, Cincinnati, and Baylor to get the🍨 season on track.
Quarterback Rocco Becht has been solid with 20 touchdown passes and he threw for over 2,600 yards. He has top wide receiver tarౠgets in Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. Higgins went for 769 yards with 5 TD catches in 2023 while Noel had 74൲1 yards and 6 TDs.
Memphis started the season 5-1 with their only loss being a tough 34-27 battle with Missouri from the SEC. Quarterback Seth Henigan 💙had a great season with 28 touchdown passes and over 3,500 yards through the air. Blake Watson found the end zone with 14 rushing touchdowns while Roc Taylor had almost 1,000 yards receiving in 2023.
Ohio State (-3) vs Missouri
The Cotton Bowl features 11-1 Ohio State against a surprising 10-2 Missouri on Friday night. The Buckeyes are disappointed they didn’t reach the College Football Playoff as a 30-24 loss to Michigan in the season finale cost Ohio State a shot at competing for a national title.
The Buckeyes are losing quarterback Kyle McCord (24 TD passes) to the transfer portal and might be without WR Marvin Harr🍰ison Jr. who is a top NFL Draft prospect. TreVeyon He💮nderson will get plenty of carries in the bowl game after a strong season with 854 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
Brady Cook was strong this season with 20 touchdown passes as Missouri was within one game of reaching the SEC Championship game. He has weapons around him in running back Cody Sဣchrader who ran for 13 touchdowns and almost 1,500 as well as WR Luther Burden (1,190 yards, 8 TDs).
