Whatever has happened for the Chicago Cubs in 2024, lefty ShÅta Imanaga has inarguably been a bright spot. Maybe the brightest spot. He deserved the All-Star nod he got yesterday, and it’ll be fun to see him as part of the festivities next week.

On the year, the-technically-a-rookie has posted a 3.16 ERA over 91.0 IP (16 starts), with a 24.7% K rate, a 4.0% BB rate, and has netted 1.9 WAR. Imanaga’s performance has arguably been even better when you consider that it’s really been 2 bad starts and 14 exceptional starts:
