WHAT A GAME.
In case you missed it, the Chicago Cubs just tossed the second combined no-hitter in franchise history, with Shota Imanaga (, of course) doing the bulk of the work with 7.0 innings and just two walks allowed. I have many more thoughts on the decision to pull him and his night in general in a separate post on that matter, so be sure to check that one out for more! We’ll focus on the rest of the game and team here.
The short version: Isaac Paredes’ three errors probably cost Shota Imanaga his shot at history, but kudos to Nate Pearson and Porter Hodge for completing the achievement for/with him.

Whew. Okay, now what else happened in this game … uh a LOT!
Both Dansby Swanson and Pete Crow-Armstrong were a triple-shy of the cycle, with the Cubs ultimately plating 11 runs on 17 hits. There were multi-hit g✱ames from Ian 𝓰Happ, Seiya Suzuki, Cody Bellinger, and Nico Hoerner and just six strikeouts total. I guess facing not-Paul Skenes and Jared Jones was enough to wake the Cubs up from their slumber. Cubs win. Great win. Great vibes. Now an off-day tomorrow, before Anthony Rizzo and the Yankees come to town this weekend.
