State of Bleacher Nation Update!

Hello all!  As some of you read back in July, I want to deliver regular updates throughout the year to discuss what’s happening at Bleacher Nation.  For those who did not read my first post … My name is Reid Rooney, and I am the CEO of Betsperts Group, which acquired Bleacher Nation 18+ months ago.

I really enjoyed all of the feedback from our readers in our first go-around, and I hope you enjoyed the back-and-forth, as well.  There were a lot of great questions, comments, suggestions, and responses.  If you missed that article you can find it here.

Before we jump into the rest, I just want to say … I cannot wait to see Caleb on Sunday.  Hopefully, you are all just as excited!

A couple of quick updates:

  1. We have hosted a couple of great events in the city thanks to our partners Ankin Law and Old Style including a happy hour and a Cubs rooftop event.  We will have one more coming later this year (hopefully for a Bears game at a bar in the city, where anyone can join!).  In 2025, we are hoping to have even more events and hangouts throughout the entire season, as well as contests to win prizes, tickets, gear, etc.
  2. The suggestions for the website design and functionality have been appreciated.  We have put a lot into our pipeline for development and improvements over the next 6-12 months.  Thank you for all the suggestions.
  3. We got plenty of feedback on the types of content we create.  One of the biggest pieces of feedback was more and deeper dives on Bears’ content.  Traditionally we have had only one writer focusing on the Bears.  We now have significantly more attention on the Bears with Luis Medina, Patrick Flowers, and Matt Rooney writing about the Bears this season which allows for deeper dives.  In August we had 53% more Bears content than we had in 2023!  I expect that number to keep going up.  I am really excited to read what they write up this year for what is the most-excited I have been for the Bears in my lifetime.  Please please please be a star, Caleb!

All that said, I have one thingꦰ to announce today that I am more excited about anything we have done this year.

A lot of people have suggested we do more around fantasy football.  If you don’t know about Betsperts Group, we own 3 fantasy football properties so this matches up perfectly with us.  We own , , and The Fantasy Life App.  Fantasy football is a big core of our business.  We have already added more fantasy football content on Bleacher Nation this year, but we were working behind the scenes to make fantasy football more relevant with Bleacher Nation … while simultaneously expanding the Bleacher Nation brand nationally.  How are we doing that?

As of September 1, we have officially rebranded the Fantasy Life App as Bleacher Nation Fantasy!

There are hundreds of thousands of fantasy players t𒅌hat use this app.  It is a social app that allows users to create polls and ask questions to other fantasy players.  Most importantly, it has the fastest breaking news alerts for all the NFL news so you ca𝕴n beat any league-mates to the wavier wire.  Bettors also use it to place bets before the line changes when sportsbooks adjust their lines based on the news.

The MOST exciting part of Bleacher Nation Fantasy is that when we launched the rebrand earlier this week, we actually introduced our own FANTASY GAME!  That is right … Bleacher Nation Fantasy now has our own game where you can play and win real money.  How does the game work?  We have 2 different ga🎐me types:

  1. Pick pre-selected matchups in 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4.
  2. Select the side you believe will win for that stat category.
  3. Submit your entry!

  1. Simplified DFS salary-cap lineup.
  2. You choose what lineup you will compete against.
  3. Build your lineup using the allotted salary cap.
  4. Submit your entry!

If you would like to learn more, here is a page with more information.

Why is this exciting for us and potentially for you?&nb🦩sp; For one, the game will allow us to grow the Bleacher Nation brand.  This can lead to more content in the future, as well as potentially expanding to other teams that our readers are commonly interested in.

🎃But even more to the point, this will help us to keep things both sustainable and free at Bleacher Nation.

As you can see around the sports media lan🅰dscape, more and more sites are going to subscription models every day.  Other sites are cutting way back or🌳 even unfortunately going out of business.

Fortun⛄ately, as a media business, we have a few different properties with different monetization strategies, but we know that free media is going to be even harder to be sustainable in the future.  That is where Bleacher Nation Fantasy comes in!  As I mentioned, we don’t just intend to stay sustainable, but we intend to grow the brand and the content, and this fantasy game will allowꦏ us to do that.

I promised in my last article to be transparent and honest about our thoughts and strategies.  If you want to continue to be supportive of Bleacher Nation (and, hey … potentially win some cash) I would encourage you to .  We have football contests up right now, and we will have NBA and MLB in the future.

, enter SWEATFREE as a promo code when you deposit!  It will allow you to get a first entry (up to $250), which, if you do not win, you will get back 250 bonus coins (1 coin = $1 of value) 🉐to keep playing.

More updates to come down the road … but I wa෴nted to share the good news and what we are doing to grow Bleacher Nation and keep𒁃 all of the content free!

Let me know if you have an൲y question✱s in the comments below.

**** Also – if you play fantasy football and want a subscription to use code REID50 for 50% off on any of the plans..  This is good until Sunday.  As a reader of BN, I wanted to make sure you got another benefit.  This is literally the largest discount we’ve offered this year, but just 🐷for BN readers!  I promise it is a very good service and a great community.
