On the same day that the MLB Cubs threw a no-hitter, the High-A Cubs pulled off another of baseball’s delightful rarities: a triple-play!
The highlight comes༺ mostly courtesy of Ed Howard and situational opportunity:
Off the bat, it looked like a tailor-made double-play for Hoꦬward and the Cubs, but he instead made sure to come in aggressively to catch the soft liner, setting up the easy triple-play opportunity. I would say the runners PROBABLY could have been a little less sure of themselves that the ball would drop, but they were definitely gonna be caught in-between either way.
Great play by Ed Howard, great fun to see.
