Enhanced Box Score: Yankees 2, Cubs 0 – September 7, 2024

Well, it wasn’t quite a carbon copy of yesterday’s game, but the end result was close enough.

The Cubs mustered a little bit more offense in this one, but nothing that was particularly threatening. Then again, the Yankees didn’t do much either, with their runs coming only by virtue of a groundout and a throwing error. An impressive job by the Cubs’ pitching staff against that lineup (collectively ), but it doesn’t matter if the bats are getting shut out.

Which they did for the second straight day at home. They were also shut out for the third time in four games. The goose iဣs looking mighty toasted in that oven.
