Craig Counsell said that if Justin Steelꦆe was healthy after his throwing ཧsessions this past week, he was going to return to the rotation.
Well, he’s healthy:
The return. Although it may not matter in the final accounting of tꦉhe season, it is great news that Justin Steele is feeling so little in his elbow (officially was tendinitis) that everyone has confidence in him coming right back into the rotation.
Also, even if the playoff hopes were 100% dead, it’s not ENTIRELY worthless for Steele to come back. He can add to his innings total for the year, he learn more about his body and dealing with/coming back fro💎m various issues, and he can feel good about where he stands heading into the offseason.
And, yes, I’ll admit to that teeeeeeeny tiny foolish part of me that wonders what happens if the Cubs did do something crazy like win out …
