When it comes to Shohei Ohtani, you can finish the following sentence about a dozen different ways: “He’s the first player in MLB history to….” And they’re almost all very impressive feats. But tonight’s edition is especially insane.
As of just moments ago, Shohei Ohtani became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs AND steal 50 bases in the same sšÆeason. Yes. He is now the one and only member of the 50-50 club.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, he accomplished this feat during a game in which he has otherwise gone 5-5 with TWO homers, TWO doubles, TWO stolen bases, and SEVEN RBI (117 on the season). Might as well go BIG if you’re gonna do it at all, right?
