Presidents Cup Standings – The 2024 edition of the Presidents Cup will be held from September 26-29 at The Royal Montreal Golf Club. As host of the 2007 Presidents Cup, Royal Montreal will become the second international venue to host the event more than once, joining Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia. The Presidents Cup 2022 was hosted by Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina, and Chicagoland’s Medinah Country Club (Course No. 3) is on tap for the 2026 edition. Canada’s hosting of the prestigious golf tournament marks the ‘International’ host for the event, which rotates between the United States and an International country.
The teams will consist of six automatically qualified players and the remaining spots will be filled by captain’s picks from Jim Furyk for the United States team and Mike Weir for the International team.
Each team will use different criteria to select their six automatic qualifiers. For the U.S. Team, players will earn qualifying points based on a weighted FedExCup points system calculated between January 1, 2023, and August 𒀰24, 2024. The💮 top six players on the points list after the 2024 BMW Championship will earn a spot on the U.S. Team.
On the other hand, the International Team will use the Of𝔍ficial World Golf Ranking (OWGR) to determine its six automatic qualifiers. This system ensures that the best players, based on their performance in various tournaments, are selected. OWGR points awarded through the 2024 BMW Championship will be considered, with no specific time period for point accumulation.
Cam Davis won the Rocket Mortgage Classic on Sunday, rising from No. 67 to No. 38 in the world rankings. He also climbed to ninth in the International Presidents Cup standings. If selected, it would be Davis’ second time competing in the Presidents Cup after being chosen for the 2022 matches despite being ranked No. 25 in the qualifying standings and No. 66 in the world.
