Scottish Open Tee Times—The first leg of the U.K. swing will start at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, for the Scottish Open. The DPWT and PGA Tour are co-hosting the event for the third year. The tournament will feature 75 golfers from each tour and serve as a warm-up for next week’s Open Championship at Royal Troon.
The Renaissance Club is situated in North Berwick, Scotland, next to Muirfield on 300 acres along the famous golf-playing coastline off the Fꦫirth of Forth. Renowned architect Tom Doak completed the club in 2008, designing it from the swath of an ancient pine forest.

The course offers a unique golfing experience, not conforming to the typical links setup due to its tree-lined holes, undulating terrain, and dense rough along the fairways, particularly on the back nine. Despite this, the course does possess distinct links-style features. Situated along the coastline, the course is often subject to windy conditions, while the red fescue turf, firm and tight, creates fast-running surfaces on the fairways and aprons. Moreover, the strategic absence of bunkers in front of the greens encourages players to utilize ground game and execute bump-and-run shots. The course’s bunkers mostly comprise links-style pot bunkers with deep, riveted faces, adding to the unique challenges presented to golfers.
With 18 of the top 30 players in the world heading to North Berwick, this year’s Scottish Open will have one of its strongest lineups ever. The tournament includes an equal number of PGA Tour and DP World Tour players, with 75 players from each tour taking part. Many players are highly motivated because the top three finishers who have not already qualified will secure a spot in the Open Championship as long as they finish in the top 10 at Renaissance.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has opted to prepare on his own for next week’s Open Championship, joining Patrick Cantlay as the only eligible top-25 players not in attendance this week. Other top players not making the trip overseas include Tony Finau, Russell Henley, Keegan Bradley, Cameron Young, and Akshay Bhatia.
Rory McIlroy will be back to defend his win from last year and will be making his first appearance since struggling at last month’s U.S. Open. Scotland native Robert Macintyre, last year’s runner-up, will return as a PGA Tour champion after winning the Canadian Open a few weeks ago. Other past Scottish Open champions teeing it up this week include world No. 3 Xander Schauffele, Min Woo Lee, Aaron Rai, and DP World Tour player and former LIV Golf member Bernd Wiesberger.
Among the top players from the DP World Tour co🐼mpeting this week, besides Wiesberger, are Rasmus Hojgaard, Jordan Smith, Guido Migliozzi, Tom McKibbin, Keita Nakajima, and Thriston Lawrence. Several former DP World Tour players are now regulars on the PGA Tour, including Macintyre, Ryan Fox, Alexander Bjork, and Matthieu Pavon.
