Round 1 of The Open Championship is in the books! Thursday’s action at Royal Troon did not disappoint as we saw a bit of everything that makes The Open so unique. Daniel Brown of England is the leader at -6 after the opening round with 2019 Open Champion Shane Lowry right behind him at -5. With the post-round leaderboard official, that means there are updated Open Championship odds and props.
Some other notable performances on Thursday were Justin Thomas’ e-under 68 to put him three shots off the lead, and reigning PGA Champion Xander Schauffele’s 69 which makes him four shots behind Brown. Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods both put together noteworthy rounds but for the wrong reasons. McIlroy shot a 78 which has him at +7 for the tournament while Tiger ended up with an 8-over 79.
