Pick No. 11: Tigers Take SS/OF Konnor Griffin (Jackson Prep, MS)
It is looking like Konnor Griffin or Cam Caminiti would be good fits here and the T🌄igers could easily pul💖l the trigger on Griffin. The Tigers could be in a position to take the top prep bat available and Griffin would fit this at no. 11 overall.
Griffin is a shortstop/outfielder from Jackson Prep who hits right-handed. He’s 6’4″ and weighs 205 pounds. Also, he is committed to LSU in the fall. He has all the tools and reclassified from the 2025 to the 2024 MLB Draft. He was the Gatorade National High School Player of the Year and looks like he could be a plus defender at multiple positions depending on where he lands.
Griffin on the MLB best draft prospects list.
More Options for Tigers
The MLB Draft can be extremely unpredictable and the Tigers might scoop up the best available player if Griffin is gone at 𓆏no. 11. Here are a couple of other options worth considering for Detroit in the first ꦛround.
LHP Cam Caminiti (Saguaro HS, AZ)
Lefty pitcher Cam Caminiti also reclassified from 2025 to 2024 and sits at no. 15 on the top draft prospects board from MLB. He won’t turn 18 until next month and already has a fastball that can touch up to 98 miles per hour. He usually sits 93-95 with a deceptive delivery.
C💮aminiti can mix in a curve and slider which gives him a massive upside heading into his future. Like Griffin, he is also committed to LSU and hopes to be the first Arizona prep pitcher taken in the first round since 2018. That year, Matthew Liberatore went no. 16 overall to the Rays.
It would be a great ad💃d🙈ition for the Tigers to get a potential ace in 3-4 years.
OF Braden Montgomery (Texas A&M)
If the Tigers are looking for a great college bat, Braden Montgomery would be a great pick if he’s still available at no. 11. A top-10 prospect on most boards, Montgomery smashed 27 homers this past season at Texas A&M and has an elite arm in the outfield.
There is potential for Montgomery as a pitcher too as he throws 96 miles per hour on the mound but it seems unlikely the Tigers would give up such a high-quality bat that could reach the majors rather quickly if he fꦿell to No. 11 in round 1.
