There were plenty of fireworks in the 2024 All-Star Game as the American League All-Stars beat the National League All-Stars thanks to a 2-run double by Juan Soto and a 2-run HR by Jarren Duran. Here are the highlights from the contest as the biggest stars in baseball put on a show.
AL All-Stars Win ASG 5-3
It was a 5-3 victory for the AL All-Stars. The AL collected just 5 hits but they got a huge double from Juan Soto and a massive homer from Jalen Duran in the win. For the NL, Shohei Ohtani showed why he is one of the best players in the game by knocking a💟 3-run homer to drive in all of꧃ the runs for the National League.
The NL had 10 hits in the loss while striking out 9 timꦍes. Starter Paul Skenes threw one inning and surrendered a walk but no runs. Corbin Burns gave up a hit and a walk in his one 🔯inning but also did not give up a run.
Juan Soto Doubles, Jarren Duran Homers in Win
The American League trailed 3-0 going into the bottom of the third when Juan Soto knocked in two runs to cut the lead to 3-2 with a double. Then, a single from David Fry scored Soto two batters later. The score remained tied 3-3 until the 5th inning when Jarren Duran hit𒆙 a 2-run homer that scored himself and Anthony Santander to give the AL All-Stars a 5-3 lead and it ended up being the game-winning tater.
Ohtani Goes Deep for NL, Has 3 RBI
was having a blast at🗹 the All-Star Game and gave the fans something to cheer about as he opened the scoring with a 3-run homer in the top of the 3rd inning. The homer scored Ketel Martel and Jurickson Profar. Ohtani was all smiles as he rounded the basཧes and touched home plate before getting many congratulations from his fellow all-stars.
Duran Wins 2024 All-Star Game MVP
Jarren Duran was rewarded for his heroics and named the 2024 All-Star Game MVP thanks to his 2-run homer that ended up sealing the deal for the American League. An incredible𒀰 night for Duran who was celebrating his first ASG appearance. Duran hit .284 with 10 homers, 27 doubles, 10 triples, and stole 22 bases in the first half of the season to get his first nomination.
