Ime Udoka Will Reportedly be the Houston Rockets’ Next Head Coach

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, former Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka is headed to the Houston Rockets.

The two sides agreed on a deal to make Udoka the new leading man on Monday. Per Woj, the organization’s young talent and loads up cap space .

The news comes after Udoka was suspended by the Celtics for the entirety of the 2022-23 season. The organization found he had an inappropriate workplace relationship. Details were kept under wraps and the franchise eventually chose to allow him to pursue other opportunities as they named Joe Mazzulla the team’s head coach.

Udoka also had interest from the Brooklyn Nets mid-way through the season before the organization decided to go with Jacque Vaughn after firing Steve Nash. Udoka’s name had also been thrown out immediately with the Raptors’ and Pistons’ openings.

The Rockets fired Stephen Silas on the final day of the regular season after going 20-66 this 𝄹season. They are tied with the Pistons and Spurs for having the best odds at the No. 1-overall pick. The draft lottery is set for May 16 in Chica🌳go.
