Lamar Jackson getting closer to a long-term contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens wasn’t on my bingo card of things that would surface during the NFL Draft. But here we are. ESPN’s Dan Graziano that Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have had “productive conversations” recently and are “making progress toward a long-term extension.”
Graziani didn’t have any details on a potential deal, but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport offered some information on the situation.
Rapoport live from Union Station in Kansas City that once the Jalen Hurts extension got done last week, the Ravens “stepped up and offered him a deal that trumped it.” Hurts’ new contract with the Eagles makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history, with an annual average salary of $51 million. The new agreement also features a no-trade clause, the first such clause given to a player by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mom🎉ents later, Ian Rapoport reported that Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have agreed to a new deal.
Per Adam Schefter, the two sides are still working through the language of the ✨deal. However, the deal will get 📖done. Lamar Jackson is staying in Baltimore long-term.

According to Adam Schefter, Lamar Jackson’s new deal with the Ravens will be for five years.
UPDATE: It’s a five-ear, $260 million deal for Lamar Jackson, including $185 million in guarantees. He is the new highest paid quarterback in the NFL.
