2024 NFL Mock Draft
This 2024 NFL Mock Draft focuses on the Buffalo Bills two picks in three rounds. They address t💧wo🌃 of their biggest needs.
Round 1, Pick 28: Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State
The Bills prioritize their pass rush by selecting Penn State’s dynamic edge rusher, Chop Robinson. With potential free agency departures on the defensive line, Robinson offers a versatile skillset that fits Sean McDermott’s defensive scheme. At 6’4″ and 250 pounds, Robinson possesses a desirable blend of size and athleticism. He explodes off the snap with an impressive first step, overwhelming tackles with his initial burst. His relentless motor keeps him in the play throughout the snap, constantly pressuring the quarterback.
Robinson’s repertoire of pass-rushing moves is already impressive for his age. He utilizes a combination of speed rushes, power moves, and stunts to disrupt the pocket. His ability to bend the edge allows him to turn the corner quickly and collapse the pocket, creating pressure on the quarterback.
While Robinson has a high ceiling, he’s not a finished product. He can occasionally struggle to disengage from blocks, leading to frustration against experienced offensive linemen. Additionally, his coverage skills are still developing. However, the Bills believe their coaching staff can refine his technique and unlock his full potential. Pairing Robinson with Greg Rousseau could form a formidable young edge-rushing duo for years to come.
Round 2, Pick 60: Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida
With Gabe Davis leaving in Free Agency, the Bills address their receiving corps in the second round by selecting Florida’s explosive playmaker, Ricky Pearsall. Pearsall is a dynamic athlete with a knack for making big plays. His route-running is crisp and precise, allowing him to create separation at all levels of the field. He excels on slants and curls, finding soft spots in the zone and generating yards after the catch with his elusiveness and open-field vision.
Pearsall’s biggest strength lies in his ability to win jump balls. At 6’2″ with a strong frame and exceptional leaping ability, he presents a constant threat in the red zone. He uses his physicality to overpower smaller defensive backs and come down with contested catches. Additionally, Pearsall possesses underrated deep speed, capable of stretching the field vertically and creating big plays down the field for Josh Allen.
While Pearsall’s route-running is polished, he can sometimes struggle against press coverage at the line of scrimmage. His blocking ability also needs improvement. However, his overall skillset is a perfect fit for the Bills’ offense. He can play both inside and outside receiver, offering versatility and giving Josh Allen another reliable weapon in the passing attack. Pearsall’s presence alongside Stefon Diggs and Dalton Kincaid could create a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.
2024 NFL Mock Draft: Overall Outlook
The Buffalo Bills’ 2024 draft strategy focuses on solidifying their defense while adding depth to their offense. By selecting Chop Robinson, they address a glaring need at edge rusher, adding a young, explosive player to bolster their pass rush. Ricky Pearsall in the second round provides insurance for the departure of Gabe Davis, offering a versatile receiving option for Josh Allen.
This draft approach a♐llows the Bills to maintain their offensive firepower while shoring up a defense that needs some reinforcements. With a young core on both sides of the ball, the Bills are well-positioned to make a deep playo✃ff run in 2024 and compete for a Super Bowl title in the coming years.
