*Before we get into this “three-round” mock draft, it’s important to know that the Dolphins forfeited their third-round pick and a first-rounder in 2023 for violating the league’s tampering rules.
The Miami Dolphins have been so close to reclaiming a spot atop the AFC East but fell a tad short again at the end of last season. They earned a playoff berth for a second straight year under Head Coach Mike McDaniel but eventually lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 26–7 in one of the coldest games in NFL history. This Dolphins team is certainly heading in the right direction, but just need a few key players to get there, and they can add that in this year’s NFL Draft.
Miami has a first-round pick for the first time in three seasons and should have plenty of interesting options with the 21st overall selection. They have just six picks overall in this year’s draft and this mock draft covers two of those selections as we enter draft month.

Round 1, Pick 21: JC Latham (OT) University of Alabama
The Dolphins have decent tackles on the roster but depth is needed and salary cap issues forced them to chan𒁃ge things up a bit. At 6’8″ and 335 lbs, Latham is massive as an o-lineman and is a dominant force in the run game. He started for two seasons at right tackle for Alabama but has the potential to play either tackle or switch to guard in the NFL.
Latham would 𒈔upgrade the offensive line, providing much-need🙈ed stability for the running game and a solid shield for Tua Tagovailoa.
Alternative Mock Draft Picks at No. 21: Jer’Zhan Newton (DI) University of Illinois, Jared Verse (EDGE) Florida State University, Jackson Powers-Johnson (C/G) University of Oregon, Graham Barton (C) Duke University
Round 2, Pick 55: Jonah Elliss (EDGE) University of Utah
Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb are still question🌠 marks for Week 1 and Miami can use some depth at edge in their rotation. Elliss brings a desired blend of physicality and instincts to the position, making him a nightmare for opposi𒈔ng offenses. He boasts a relentless desire to disrupt plays and excels at diagnosing run plays off the edge, exploding into the backfield to create quick stops. This ability to shut down running lanes makes him a valuable asset in any defensive scheme.
With his well-rounded skillset and relentless drive, Ell🗹iss has the potentia🍃l to be a day-one starter and goes to the Dolphins at pick 55 in this mock draft.
Alternative Mock Draft Picks at No. 55: T’Vondre Sweat (DT) University of Texas, Christian Haynes (G) University of Connecticut, Maason Smith (DT) Louisiana State University, Ja’Tavion Sanders (TE) University of Texas
