The Denver Broncos are in an interesting position at number 12 overall heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. They have several positions to address including quarterback. Take a look at our NFL Mock Draft for the Broncos’ first two picks in the first and third rounds later this month.
2024 NFL Mock Draft: Denver Broncos Round 1
The Denver Broncos have major needs at edge rusher, quarterback, 𓃲and cornerback. They could address any of these positions depending on if they fail to make a trade to move up and how other players fall 🅘in the top 10.
Selection at No. 12 Overall: Bo Nix – QB (Oregon)
While it might be a reach at number 12, the Broncos have to address the quarterback position. We see Box Nix snagged here by the Broncos in our latest mock drafts as Sean Payton could develop him into a solid NFL starter. Nix had an incredible season in Oregon’s high-powered offense in 2023 and there is plenty about his game to love.
More Mock Draft First-Round Targets for Broncos
The Broncos need help at cornerback and on the defensive line if they decide to go a different route than quarterback. Solid edge rushers lik🔯e Jared Verse from Florida State or Dallas Turner from Alabama are great fits if they are available.
When it comes to the secondary, cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell from Toledo or Cooper DeJean from Iowa can help add some d♏epth inܫ the secondary and provide an immediate impact.
Will the Broncos Trade Up in Round 1?
The biggest question surrounding the Denver Broncos is will they trade up to score a franchise quarterback in the top 5? The issue, the Broncos don’t have much to offer in terms of picks of depth from their roster. For this reason, we see the Vikings being able to beat them out with a solid offer for number 4 overall and swap with Arizona so Minnesota can take JJ McCarthy.
Broncos Mock Draft: Round 3
In the third round, the Broncos will need to add🦋ress holes in the secondary which could mean looking to add depth at cornerback or potentially the defensive line.
Round 3, Pick 76 Selection: Michael Hall Jr. – DL (Ohio State)
We see the Broncos going for depth on the defensive line in our latest mock drafts. They need to add pass rushers and ⛄on the interior defensive line. An athletic interior defensive lineman like Michael Hall Jr. is a nice fit for Denver.

Pick | Team | Selection | Pos. | College |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | CHI | Caleb Williams | QB | USC |
No surprise here. The Bears quickly take the top prospect and potential superstar in Caleb Williams. | ||||
2 | WAS | Jayden Daniels | QB | LSU |
The Heisman Trophy winner has a slight edge over Drake Maye to go number 2 but that could change. For now, we have Washington getting a true dual-threat QB here. | ||||
3 | NE | Drake Maye | QB | UNC |
The Patriots will pounce on whatever QB doesn’t go number two. They scoop up Drake Maye as he falls to number 3. | ||||
4 | MIN* | JJ McCarthy | QB | MICH |
Talk of Minnesota trading up is picking up steam. We think they pull the trigger and move up to draft JJ McCarthy out of Michigan as they need a QB of the future | ||||
5 | LAC | Marvin Harrison Jr | WR | OSU |
The Chargers and Justin Herbert will add potentially the in the draft thanks to Arizona moving down. | ||||
6 | NYG | Malik Nabers | WR | LSU |
Nabers is an elite wideout and the Giants could use another weapon on the outside. | ||||
7 | TEN | Joe Alt | OT | Notre Dame |
The Titans need to bulk up the offensive line to protect Will Levis as he develops. Joe Alt is a no-brainer here. | ||||
8 | ATL | Dallas Turner | EDGE | Alabama |
Atlanta needs more options to help get after the quarterback so they will jump on getting a great pass rusher like Dallas Turner in the top 10. | ||||
9 | CHI | Laiatu Latu | EDGE | UCLA |
The Bears could very easily trade this pick but if they hold on, a great edge player like Latu will be a great addition to the defense. | ||||
10 | NYJ | Taliese Fuaga | OT | Oregon St |
The team needs offensive line depth and Taliese Fuaga can help protect Aaron Rodgers right away as the Jets make a push for a deep playoff run | ||||
11 | ARZ* | Quinyon Mitchell | CB | Toledo |
Mitchell is a playmaker in the secondary and will make an immediate impact for Arizona at corner. He was great at the Senior Bowl and proved he’s a top-15 pick. The Cardinals snag him at number 11 after the trade with Minnesota for no. 4. | ||||
12 | DEN | Bo Nix | QB | Oregon |
The Broncos don’t have enough to offer to move up so they take Nix at number 12 believing Sean Payton can develop him quickly. |
