The San Francisco 49ers are onceꩵ again coming off a tough loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl and will be looking to return to that elusive title game for what could be their ninth time in franchise history. This free agency period was an active one for the 49ers, as they addressed some much-needed depth on both sides of the ball.
We’re a few days away from the 2024 NFL Draft and speculation is high on what General Manager John Lynch and staff will do with the San Francisco 49ers’ first three selections. Here’s my latest mock ahead of the draft.

San Francisco 49ers First Three Rounds Mock Draft
The 49ers’ roster is stacked and they are at a point where they need to build for future depth. While San Francisco put themselves in a position to go with the best player available approach thanks to a solid free agency haul, some needs are offensive tackle, guard, wide receiver, defensive end, cornerback, and linebacker. Assuming no trades up or down, here are the first three picks in my 2024 NFL Mock Draft.

Round 1: Pick 31 – Chop Robinson (EDGE), Penn State
The San Francisco 49ers love to use their first-round selection on a defensive lineman, as it’s happened three times under the duo of general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan. Robinson is PFF’s fifth-ranked EDGE rusher and 40th overall prospect in this year’s draft class after two seasons as a Nittany Lion.
The athletically gifted defender posted eight sacks, 14 hit🎐s, and 52 hurries in 22 games and would make for a solid addition to this San Francisco 49ers already strong defense.
Round 2: Pick 63 – Patrick Paul (OT) Houston
The San Francisco 49ers signed starting right tackle Colt💎on McKivitz to a contract extension earlier in the offseason with Trent Williams already solid on the left. Willi💖ams is now 35 years old and McKivitz has underwhelmed, leaving a need to bolster the offensive line.
Paul boasts exceptional arm length and strength, enabling him to neutralize defenders once he establishes a grip effectively. He’s speedy and agile allowing him to excel in pass protection and connect with moving targets in run-blocking scenarios. Paul would b🌟e a ꧙great fit to learn from veteran Williams.
Round 3: Pick 94 – Johnny Wilson (WR) FSU
For now, it appears the 49ers will have Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and Jauan Jennings anchoring their wide receiver room but Aiyuk is clamoring for a big contract exte🎉nsion in 2025, Jennings will be a free agent, and Samuel’s hefty contract does feature an “escape clause”. This could lead to the 49ers selecting a wideout among their top picks and Wilson fits the bill in Round 3.
At 6’7”, 237 pounds with a massive wingspan, he’s a beast on the field. Wilson is quick off the snap and glides with ease as a deep-ball threat. His diversity should translate🥃 well in the NFL as he can be deployed in the slot or outside and has showcased solid blocking prowess.
