Tampa Bay Lightning get: a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft
The Lightning jumped into this trade and ate 25% of Henrique’s cap hit to make the money work. Anaheim retained 50% of Henrique’s cap hit.

Vegas Acquires Anthony Mantha (March 5)

Washington Capitals get: a second-round pick in 2024 and a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft
After putting Mark Stone on LTIR earlier in the week, Vegas gets a big for🔴ward from the underwhelming Caps.
Toronto Acquires Defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin (Feb. 29)
THE TRADE:
Toronto Maple Leafs get: RHD Ilya Lyubushkin (at 25% cap hit)
Anaheim Ducks get: Toronto’s third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Anaheim retained 50% of Lyubushkin’s cap hit.
Carolina Hurricanes get: Toronto’s sixth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft for retaining 50% of Lyubushkin’s remaining salary (25% of the total cap hit).
Lyubushkin, who turns 30 in 𒊎early April, is a UFA this summer. The Canes picked up a 6th rounder for $687,500 of cap space in this deal.
Dallas Acquires Defenseman Chris Tanev (Feb. 28)
THE TRADE:
Dallas Stars get: RHD Chris Tanev (at 25% cap hit), goalie Cole Brady
Calgary Flames get: LHD , Dallas’ second-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and a third-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. Calgary retained 50% of Tanev’s cap hit.
New Jersey Devils get: Dallas’ fourth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft for retaining 50% of Tanev’s remaining salary (25% of the total cap hit).
Calgary retained 50% traded Tanev’s remaining cap hit (a 2024 UFA) in the deal to Dallas. Tanev was initially traded to New Jersey, who retained 50% of the remaining cap hit. The Devils acquired a fourth-round pick for eating $1.125M in cap hit. Grushnikov, who will turn 21 on March 20, was Dallas’ second-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.
